Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) Program
At Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School, the aim of the Italian specialist program is to create an environment
where children can acquire language skills through relevant and enjoyable activities
to:
• communicate in the Italian language;
• connect the language to everyday situations;
• broaden vocabulary related to topics of interest, and;
• make connections with and understand the relationships between language,
culture and learning.
Each week, the children are allocated an hour of Italian which is led by a specialist
teacher. In these planned and focussed sessions, the children will further their skills
of listening, speaking, reading and writing, to foster an appreciation of the Italian
language and culture.
