CHILD SAFE STANDARDS![]()
As part of the MACS, '11 Months, 11 Standards' Child Safe Standards initiative, staff have completed the July focus together in greater detail: Child Safe Standard 6: People working with children and young people are suitable and supported to reflect child safety and wellbeing values in practice.
Child Safe Standard 6 reminds us that everyone who works with children has a responsibility to act with integrity, care, and trustworthiness. As 1 Corinthians 4:2 teaches, βNow it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.β This scripture highlights that safeguarding children is a sacred trust, and we are called to be faithful stewards of their wellbeing. By ensuring that all staff, volunteers, and leaders are suitable, supported, and accountable, the standard helps us live out this trust every day, creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive.

πΏπ¦ Year 4 Adventure at Werribee Open Range Zoo! ππ![]()
Yesterday, the Year 4 children had an unforgettable day at Werribee Open Range Zoo as part of their Biological Science unit, The Infinite Loop.![]()
Throughout the day, children explored both the Australian Bushlands and the African Savannah, discovering how every living thing is connected through the cycle of life. They learnt about animal life cycles, habitats, and the important role native plants play in supporting ecosystems. One fascinating discovery was how kangaroo grass is vital to many Australian bush creatures, providing food, shelter and helping to maintain healthy environments.![]()
Of course, the animals stole the show! The highlight for Group 1 was watching the elephants bursting with energy in what could only be described as an elephant conga line! πππ![]()
Have you ever seen elephants with the zoomies? We certainly have now! π![]()
A wonderful day of curiosity, discovery and hands-on learning that brought our classroom investigations to life.

Next term, Jaimi Surkitt will be joining the Holy Trinity team after a few CRT days in Term 2. Let's welcome Jaimi and get to know her in her own words...![]()
"My name is Jaimi Surkitt and I am delighted to be joining Holy Trinity in Term 3 as part of the Grade 5 team.
I began my teaching career in 2017 and have been fortunate to work alongside wonderful students and families in Melbourneβs western suburbs. Throughout my career, I have held roles as both a classroom teacher and a leader, developing a particular passion for mathematics education and classroom mindfulness. I am committed to creating engaging and supportive learning environments where every student feels valued.
As a born-and-raised Sunbury local, I am especially excited to be working within the community that has played such an important role in my own life. I believe that strong relationships are the foundation of successful learning and that every child has the ability to thrive when they feel connected, supported, and encouraged.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter, and our cheeky Border Collie, Maple. As a family, we love exploring new places and creating memories together. When I have some quiet time, you will usually find me curled up with a good book or planning a holiday.
I am very much looking forward to meeting and getting to know all the valued members of the Holy Trinity community."
